Update 17th February 2008

Ginny and Jade have found their ‘forever home’ in Scotland and have settled in really well. They are taking life easy and getting used to being loved and cared for. Lots of TLC and regular meals are bringing out their personalities and they are now used to enjoying tea and toast for their supper in front of the fire with their new owner.

They are assured a kind and loving home until the end of their days. Now they know there is a big wide world out there, where there are comfy settees and toys, with kind and loving people to take care of them.

Updated pictures will be posted soon, to show you how they are getting on.

A huge thanks to everyone who made this possible!

The following photographs were taken on Sunday 3rd February 2008

Currently with the RSPCA in the Midlands area, we are told these girls are aged 9 and 7 and are mother and daughter. They are devoted to each other and the RSPCA want them to be rehomed together. We are told they are used to cats and would be OK with older children.

When they arrived, their coats were extremely matted, they were emaciated and had clearly not been walked for some time. We understand they had been kept in an outbuilding. Since their arrival, they have been clipped off, spayed and had dental work. They are starting to recover slowly, but both lack weight and have quite long nails.

Michelle and I visited them on Sunday 3rd February 2008. They immediately started wagging their tails and were happy to come to the outside run for exercise and fresh air. We found them to be extremely trusting and they were keen to say hello to strangers who were passing by. The older (gold) bitch was very keen to play and you can see she would make a wonderful companion. She had a lovely springy gait and whenever we ran, she was happy to run alongside. The younger (black/cream) bitch was quieter and did not seem to know how to play, but she gave Michelle lots of kisses and whenever I crouched to take her photo she came running up to me for a fuss. You can tell she has a lot of love to share with her new owners.

You can imagine it wasn't easy to leave them behind, but we are assured their kennel block is closed and heated during the night. The staff think they are absolutely adorable and we believe they would make wonderful companions to anyone who is prepared to give them a warm and loving home, a comfortable settee and plenty of fun walks.

They are in urgent need of rehoming and it is awful to imagine these wonderful sighthounds housed in a kennel block without a view. They have gone through so much and deserve a fresh start in the right home as soon as possible.

If you can help, or know someone who can, please contact Michelle or myself for more information.
